OBIT DUNGAN, JOHN FRANKLINI
DUNGAN, John Franklin, 67, of West Main Street, Waynesboro, formerly of
Roanoke, died Sunday, December 12, 1993, in Waynesboro Community Hospital. He
was born August 28, 1926, in Chilhowie, a son of John Madison and Addie
Melissa Dungan. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean
Conflict. He was a member of the Stonewall Detachment of the Marine Corps
League, the Waynesboro Moose Lodge, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the
Waynesboro Benevolent Protective Order of Elk. He was employed by the Norfolk
and Western Railroad for many years and had been employed by the Honeywell
Corp. and Robertshaw Controls of Richmond, Va. Survivors include his wife,
Margaret Dungan; two sons, John W. Dungan, Ruckersville, Frank I. Dungan,
Palmyra; two daughters, Gail Schwarz, Philadephia, Pa., Charlane Tetreault,
Waynesboro. There will be no formal visitation or service, as his body was
donated to the Commonwealth of Virginia State Anatomical Division. Memorials
may be made to the National Diabetes Association or the Waynesboro First Aid
Crew.
