Former Vice President Dan Quayle, who took a drubbing on talk shows and op-ed pages when he took aim at TV character "Murphy Brown" to lament diminishing family values, has found an unlikely defender: President Bill Clinton.

Clinton, in a year-end interview with Newsweek magazine staffers, was asked if he believes it's immoral for people to have children out of wedlock. His answer:
