OBIT-BROWN, SARAH ELIZABETH BLANKENSHIP
BROWN, Sarah Elizabeth Blankenship, 94, of Shenandoah Valley Health Care
Center, Buena Vista, formerly of Clifton Forge died Wednesday, December 15,
1993 at the Center. She was born in Bedford County, December 4, 1899, daughter
of the late David and Edna Rice Blankenship and the last surviving member of
her immediate family. She was a member of the Clifton Forge Baptist Church and
is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Francile) Wright of Lexington; and
one son, William L. Brown of Richland, Washington; nine grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death
by her husband, William Daniel Brown and one son, Robert D. Brown. Funeral
services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 1993 at Nicely Funeral
Home Chapel, Clifton Forge, with Rev. Tom Harvey officiating. Interment to
follow in the Alleghany Memorial Park. Memorial gifts may be made in her name
to the Organ Fund, Manly Baptist Church, Main St., Lexington, Va. 24450. The
family will receive friends any time at 523 Taylor St., Lexington, Va. or one
hour prior to services on Saturday at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
