OBIT-MCCORMICK, JAMES S.

McCORMICK, James S., 78, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, December 18, 1993 in a Lexington hospital. He was born May 13, 1915, the son of the late James A. and Rubye Amole McCormick. He was a longtime member of the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church, member of the 231 Masonic Lodge, Glasgow, past Patron Rockbridge Chapter 125 Eastern Star and he was employed by the Lomax Funeral Home. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Scott McCormick; one son, David S. McCormick, Buena Vista; one grandson, Scott McCormick; and one granddaughter, Hillary McCormick, both of Buena Vista; three sisters, Mary L. Bare and Elizabeth Hickman, both of Lexington, Winnie Padgett, Pulaski; two brothers, J. Frank McCormick, Lexington and Lewis S. McCormick, Buena Vista. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at the Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Marc Sherrod. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Lomax Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
