NAACP BACKS JACKSON; CALLS NEWS CONFERENCE

The NAACP supported Michael Jackson Sunday, saying he had been victimized by the media.

Shannon Reeves, West Coast Region Director of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, called a news conference to discuss "the media bashing of entertainer Michael Jackson and to address how other economically powerful African-Americans have been victimized by the press," a news release said.

The news conference was to be held today.
