OBIT MASSIE, EDWARD MILES
MASSIE, Edward Miles, 70, of Lowesville, died Sunday, December 19, 1993 in
Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Nelson County April 14, 1923, he was a son
of the late Wingfield Scott Massie and Willie Byron Massie. He was the husband
of Doris C. Massie. Mr. Massie was a member of Piney River Baptist Church and
was retired from the Central Virginia Training Center. In addition to his
wife, survivors include one son, John Miles Massie of Lowesville; three
daughters, Betty Garcia of Daleville, Dianne Wilson of Arrington and Naomi
Cash of Amherst; one brother, Arnold Douglas Massie of Roseland; two sisters,
Alice Massie of Madison Heights and Linda Ann Massie of Forest; seven
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 1993 in Piney River Baptist Church by the
Revs. Carroll Welch and A. Eugene Beverly, with burial in Harewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m.
Monday.
