ROANOKE VALLEY ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Registrations of new cars are running well ahead of last year's in the Roanoke Valley.

The Virginia Automobile Dealers Association said 6,914 new cars were registered by Roanoke-area dealers through November, compared with 5,626 for the first 11 months of 1992, an increase of 22.9 percent.

Dealers registered 636 cars in November, an increase of 73.3 percent from the 367 vehicles reported during the same month last year. Of last month's new cars, 409 were registered in Roanoke, 104 in Roanoke County and 123 in Salem.
