"We talked, and one problem we've had has been worked out," Bucs owner Kelvin Bowles said Monday. "They're going to talk to their attorneys. I don't think there will be a problem."
Still Bowles said, contrary to reports Monday, the team has not yet been sold. That situation was presenting a new set of problems.
"People who are interested in buying the team are coming out of the woodwork now," he said. "But I'm not going to talk to them. I'm committed to the group I've been talking to to the point now that it wouldn't be fair to talk to anybody else unless something changes."
The identity of the group Bowles is negotiating with has not been disclosed. However, Bowles has said that the group, which already has other professional interests, is based out of town.
Bowles, who has owned the team since 1986, is believed to be seeking more than $2 million for it.
