OBIT HOWARD, BENNIE GILLIAM SR.

HOWARD, Bennie Gilliam Sr., 68, of Fairfax, died Saturday, December 18, 1993, in the Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax, Va. He was born February 8, 1925, the son of the late Ben Osborne and Mamie White Howard. He was a member of the Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church. He retired from Wells Fargo as a security guard. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Hunt Howard; one son, Edwin W. Howard of Chicago, Il.; two daughters, Martha Sue Canard and Dorothy Coverston, both of Manassas; three grandchildren; one brother, Guy R. Howard of Altavista; two sisters, Eleanor H. Morris of Buena Vista and Helen H. Woodford of Lynchburg. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 1993, at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Lisa Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lomax Funeral Home.
