OBIT OSBORNE, JOE W.

OSBORNE, Joe W., 82, of Grant, Grayson County, passed away Monday, December 20, 1993, at the home of his granddaughter, Dianna H. Purdom in Lantana, Fla. He was born December 2, 1911, in Grayson County to Dr. Fielden L. and Betty Duncan Osborne. He was a lifelong farmer, a retired Grayson County rural mail carrier, and member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Besides his granddaughter, he is also survived by his wife, Pressie Halsey Osborne, of the home; daughter, Norma Hart, Marion; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The body will be brought to Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Boyette and Rev. Rex Hall officiating. Interment in Grant Cemetery. The body will remain at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home and will be taken to the church thirty minutes preceding the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Rugby Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 11, Mouth of Wilson, Va. 24363.
