OBIT HALE, ROBERT OTEY SR.

HALE, Robert Otey Sr., 56, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, December 20, 1993. Mr. Hale attended Preston Oaks Baptist Church and was co-owner of Hale's Exxon Shop. He was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, and play golf. He was a very devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Ayers Hale; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert O. Hale Jr. and wife, Robin of Roanoke; two daughters and one son-in-law, Claudette Hale Selkirk and husband, Mark of Roanoke, L. Paulette Hale, M.D. and fiance, Thomas G. Bowen Jr. of Winston Salem, N.C.; his mother, Mrs. Docie S. Hale, Roanoke; two brothers, William C. Hale and James L. Hale, both of Roanoke; two sisters, Carolyn Hale Bruce, Virginia Beach, and Mary Elizabeth Hale, Roanoke; three grandchildren, Kristopher D. Hale, A. Megan Hale, and Robert C. Hale, all of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 1 p.m. Thursday, December 23, with the Rev. James Millsaps officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
