OBIT-MABE, PEARL HODGES

MABE, Pearl Hodges, 75, of Vinton, died Tuesday, December 21, 1993, at the Wesley Nursing Center, Charlotte, N.C. She was the widow of Alfred Walker Mabe, a member of Villa Heights Baptist Church, and a retired beautician. Surviving are three daughters, Janice Sutphin, Houston, Texas, Dr. Ann Newman, Charlotte, N.C., Rebecca Mabe, Charlottesville; two sons, Michael Walker Mabe, Indianapolis, Ind., Carlton H. Mabe Sr., Roanoke; 11 grandchildren, and a sister, Margie Todd, Pilot Mountain, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday from Oakey's Vinton Chapel, with the Rev. Harold C. Lewis and the Rev. J. Landon Maddex officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley Methodist Center (3700 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, N.C. 28215). Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
