Alvin E. Dixon, 57, an assistant manager at the Western Steer Steakhouse at Nye and Peppers Ferry roads, was approached outside the restaurant by a masked man.
The robber took Dixon behnd the store, forced him to lie down on the ground, then took the night deposit containing an undisclosed amount of money, Investigator Marty Alford said.
The robber, described as a man in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds, was wearing pantyhose to conceal his face. He fled on foot.
"This is the first robbery we've had in years," Alford said.
