OBIT YOUNG, RUDOLPH KENT
YOUNG, Rudolph Kent, 61, of Salem, died Thursday, December 23, 1993. He was
the owner of Masonry Contractors, Inc. and P & R Masonry Supply, Inc. and had
recently retired. He had been the president of the State Masonry Contractors,
Assoc. of Va. from 1987 to 1988 and was also past president of the Southwest
State Masonry Association from 1986 to 1987. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the
Korean War. He was preceded in death by his father, C. E. Young, the founder
of Masonry Contractors, which was established in 1965. Surviving are his wife,
Patricia D. Young; sons and daughter-in-law, Randy K. Young, Jeff A. and
Virginia S. Young, all of Salem; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie Y. and Gary
L. Lucas, Roanoke; mother, Virginia A. Brogan, Salem; grandchildren, Cham and
Brooke Lucas, Roanoke, Page and Josh Young, Salem; brothers, Chester and Earl
Young, both of Salem. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 24, 1993
at 12 noon in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, with Pastor Jeff Davis
officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Park. The family
will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, prior to the service at the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart
Association, 4504 Starkey Road, Roanoke, Va. 24018. Arrangements by John M.
