WILL SOME TURN FROM SALVATION?

AS MY FAMILY and I prepared to go to church, I picked up the Dec. 12 Roanoke Times & World-News and right away I had to practice one of Jesus' teachings of ``turning the other cheek.''

This newspaper's editors slapped me square in the face with a news article by David Crum of Knight-Ridder Newspapers entitled ``Gospels give wrong picture of Jesus, scholars say.'' This hurt me, my family and other Christians who read it. We as Christians live by the infallible words of Jesus Christ, which we believe are true. What bothers me tremendously is how many people who read it were on the verge of accepting Jesus as their personal savior. Now, possibly thinking that if he didn't say these things, why should they even be saved? Possibly they will be going into eternity unsaved because of modern man's interpretation of the Holy Scriptures.

I'll pray for you and for those who read this news article. I know through faith that Jesus did indeed speak these words. If I were the writer, I'd read carefully Revelation 22:18-19 on what God said he would do to those who changed his word. The signs of the times are here, and this news article helps prove that Jesus' return is imminent. Praise his holy name and his holy word.
