MEADOWS-ABBOTT

Valerie Gaye Abbott and Larry Shawn Meadows were married December 10, 1993 in Gladtidings Assembly of God by Rev. David Dunbar. The reception was held at the church social hall. The maid of honor was Kimberly Meadows, the groom's sister. The matron of honor was Karen Abbott, sister-in-law of the bride. The bridesmaids were Renee Pittman and Brandi O'dell, both cousins of the bride. Flowergirls were Emily Swingle, cousin of the bride and Rachel Abbott, niece of the bride. The best man was Larry Meadows, father of the groom. The ushers were Victor Abbott, brother of the bride, Travis Wright and Joel Banks, friends. The ringbearer was Jason Goff. The guestbook was attended by Michelle Northington. The bride wore a white brocade gown and carried a bouquet of white roses with Christmas greenery.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Abbott of Catawba. She is a graduate of New Castle High School and Roanoke College. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry M. Meadows of Salem, is a graduate of Salem High School. He is employed by Hancock Steel. The newlyweds will live in Salem after the wedding trip to North Carolina.
