MAN CLAIMS HOOTERS DISCRIMINATES IN HIRING

Hooters, a restaurant company known for its provocatively dressed waitresses, has been accused of sex discrimination - by a man.

A federal lawsuit filed Thursday claims Hooters has a nationwide policy of refusing to hire men for jobs visible to patrons, such as waiters and bartenders.

Savino Latuga says he applied in January for a job as a waiter at a Hooters. The lawsuit says Latuga never got a reply.

It names Hooters of Clearwater Inc., the Florida company that owns the chain's Chicago-area restaurants, but not Hooters of America Inc., the Atlanta-based chain.
