OBIT OLIVER, JAMES T., JR. "J.T."
OLIVER, James T., Jr. "J.T.", 58, of Blue Ridge, passed away Thursday,
December 23, 1993, at his home. He was a member of Bonsack Baptist Church and
served with the Virginia State Police for 34 years. He was preceded in death
by his parents, James T. Oliver, Sr., and Thelma V. Oliver. Surviving are his
wife, Peggy K. Oliver; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Tami Oliver,
Blue Ridge; sister-in-law and her husband, Rebecca Ann and Franklin Woolard,
Lynchburg; brothers-in-law, Dr. Alton G. Keel, Jr., Washington, D.C., John
Edward Keel, Newport News, and numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral service will
be conducted from Bonsack Baptist Church, 1 p.m. Monday, December 27, 1993,
with the Rev. Dr. Robert G. Moore III, and Special Agent T.G. Ayers, Virginia
State Police Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Fair View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Harry Bosworth, Jr., Lee Bradley, Paul Dicks, Cecil Handy,
Barry Keesee, and Wyatt Omohundro. The family suggests that memorials be made
to Bonsack Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society. Friends may call at
Oakey's Vinton Chapel after 9 a.m. Sunday where the family will receive
friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
