The shooting started Christmas morning at 12:39 a.m., when about 15 shots were fired on Tinker Drive Northeast. A man who said he had been aiming at a stray cat was charging with shooting a firearm within city limits.
At 2:37 a.m., an 18-year-old patron of a bar on Franklin Road Southwest was approached by two men impersonating police officers. They showed him a badge, shoved him against a wall and took $41, police said.
At 5:20 a.m., a man was beaten in the head with a crowbar. Police found Darvon Keith Tyree, 28, bleeding at a home on Frontier Avenue Northeast. Tyree said a man had come to talk to him about an "earlier incident." Police charged Verdel Gunter, whose age and address were not available, with malicious wounding.
At 3:30 p.m., a man was cut during an altercation with a woman at his home on Wells Avenue Northwest. He told police the woman became irate when he refused to give her money for drugs. The 67-year-old man was cut in the forehead when the woman threw an object at him, breaking out the glass in his front door, police said.
At 6:40 p.m., a Vinton woman was walking on Campbell Avenue when a car turned onto the sidewalk, blocking her path. She told police the driver got out, grabbed her jacket and took $30, then returned the jacket.
And, at 6:57 p.m., a 40-year-old man was cut in the head with a bread knife during an argument with his girlfriend on Dunbar Avenue Northwest.
