OBIT ANDERSON, DOROTHY SLAYTON

ANDERSON, Dorothy Slayton, 67, of Roanoke, died Saturday, December 25, 1993. Dorothy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was the widow of Charles Otey Anderson Jr. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Wilson and Mary Slaten, Rocky Mount; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Hunt, Lynchburg, Garnett and Aaron McCrickard, Raleigh, N.C., Evelyn and Robert Hensley, Pensacola, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Pearl Simmons. A graveside service will be held in Franklin Memorial Park Wednesday, December 29, at 11 a.m. with Dr. C. Steven Teague officiating. A memorial service will follow at Calvary Baptist Church at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 608 Campbell Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24016; or a favorite charity in her memory. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel.
