OBIT CALHOUN, GEORGE RAYMOND

CALHOUN, George Raymond, ("Ray"), 83, of Hardy, died peacefully at his home, Sunday, December 26, 1993 from cancer. He was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church of Moneta. Following his retirement, he was well-known for his chocolate chip cookies. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Beatrice Willt Calhoun. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Elneta and Anthony Amicucci, Carmel, N.Y., Cynthia and Jimmy Stiles, Hardy; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Richard and Lynn Amicucci, Toni and William Rinn, Dawna and Kerry Pennington, Patricia Amicucci, Lisa and Dobie Toms, Glenn and Jodi Stiles, Christopher and Nicole Amicucci, Steven and Melissa Stiles, and Pamela and Robert Buzzeo; nine great-grandchildren, Michael Pennington, Kelly Pennington, Alexandra Stiles, Lauren Stiles, Kyle Amicucci, Elizabeth Amicucci, Jaclyn Amicucci, Chelsea Rinn, and Michael Buzzeo; three stepgreat-grandchildren, William, Robert, and Brian Rinn; two sisters-in-law, Claudine Calhoun and Wilma Calhoun, both of Oakland, Md. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 1993 at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Riley Smith officiating. On Wednesday, December 29, 1993, funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. in the Durst Funeral Home Chapel, Oakland, Md., with burial in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in memory of Ray be made to the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 458, Moneta, Va. 24121. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home.
