CARR, NATHANIEL, 76, OF ROANOKE, DIED WEDNESDAY,
CARR, Nathaniel, 76, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, December 29, 1993, in
Williamsburg, Va. He was a retired maintenance director for the Roanoke City
School System and was a member of the Sunday School Class at Lynn Haven
Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force during World War II. He
was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Magee Carr in 1989 and one son,
Nathaniel Carr Jr. in 1975. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn
and Patrick Fowler, Williamsburg; one brother, David Carr, Richmond; one
sister, Marion Kersey, Mclean, Va.; six grandchildren, Melissa Fowler,
Jennifer Fowler, David Carr, Curtis Carr, Mary Ellen Poindexter, Betty Jo
Carr. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel noon Friday
by the Rev. Brian Jones. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The
family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday.
