GARNER, BERTELLE SLAYDON, 86, OF ROANOKE,

GARNER, Bertelle Slaydon, 86, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, December 28, 1993. She is survived by her sons, Drexell C. Garner, James E. Garner, both of Roanoke; sisters, Esther Garrett, Axton, Irene Compton, Martinsville, Marie Smith, St. Joseph, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Jessie Carter, Orlando, Fla., Margaret Dowdy, Johnson City, Tenn.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Valley View Wesleyan Church 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Raymond Powers and the Rev. Randy Garner with burial in the Garner Family Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, Roanoke. The family will receive friends Thursday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel.
