VIRGINIA MAN GUILTY OF N.C. DECAPITATION

A Virginia construction worker was convicted Tuesday of the decapitation murder of his girlfriend and was sentenced to life in prison.

Michael G. Dial, 38, of Norfolk showed no emotion as the jury convicted him of second-degree murder in the July 1991 slaying of Brenda Gail Dozier. The case is expected to be appealed.

Dozier's nude, headless and handless body washed ashore at Nags Head. Her head and hands were never found, and authorities identified her by a rose tattoo above her left breast.
