ICE STORM BROUGHT OUT BEST IN RADFORD FOLKS
Recently the City of Radford and the New River Valley experienced a
devastating ice storm. No area of the city or valley was spared the
devastation. Many families were without essential services for a number of
days. During the height of the storm, the City of Radford had a large number
of employees who worked in excess of 30 hours straight in order to restore
service to as many residents as possible. City residents also opened their
homes to neighbors and friends who were without electricity.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to all
individuals who assisted in the effort and offer a special thanks to all city
employees who gave unselfishly of their time and effort during this difficult
situation.
