RADFORD WOMEN PLAY LIBERTY IN TOURNAMENT

Four-time defending champion Radford will play Liberty on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Big south Conference women's tournament at UNC Greensboro's Spartan Center.

The Highlanders (15-11) and Maryland-Baltimore County (14-12) finished with 12-6 league records, but the Big South tie-breaking procedures gave the Retrievers the second seeding.

Radford, seeded third, opens the quarterfinals with its 1 p.m. game against Liberty. At 3 p.m., UMBC will play with winner of Wednesday night's first-round game between No. 7 Coastal Carolina and No. 10 Winthrop. No. 4 Campbell plays No. 5 Towson State at 6, and at 8 No. 1 UNC Greensboro plays the winner of Wednesday's other first-round game between No. 8 UNC Asheville an No. 9 Charleston Southern.

The semifinals are at 6 and 8 Friday night, and the championship game is at 7 p.m. Saturday.
