IN SCHOOL

LYNCHBURG COLLEGE STUDENTS, Christopher L. Boyd, Shoan Martin, and Tonya Zimmer, all from Roanoke, recently participated in the in the eighth annual National Black Student Leadership Conference at the College of William and Mary.

Boyd, son of Diane Boyd of Roanoke, is a freshman journalism major, and Martin, son of Geneva Martin of Roanoke, is a junior accounting major. Both are graduates of Patrick Henry High School. Zimmer, daughter of Debra Briley of Roanoke, is a junior political science major.

\ AMY L. STARR, daughter or Dr. and Mrs. John W. Starr of Roanoke, has been named a college scholar for the fall term at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt.

\ MICHAEL WOLF has been selected to serve on a Student Government Association committee at Lynchburg College.

Wolf, a philosophy and political science major, is serving on the planning committee. He is the son of Leonora Wolf of Roanoke.

\ ROANOKE COLLEGE has announced the names of several Roanoke-area students who have been named to the dean's list of distinguished students for the 1993 fall term.

\ DOMINION BUSINESS SCHOOL has announced the names of students from the Roanoke campus who received academic honors for the 1993 fall semester.

Students from Roanoke named to the director's list were: Sonia Anderson, Diane Brown, Deidra Burgess, Sara Cochran, Cynthia Frazier, Donna Lipscomb, Cheryl O'Neil, Jennifer Ondell, Audrey Saul, Victoria Sink, Laura Lee Snow, Margaret Sullivan, Pricilla Toliver, Sabrina Toliver and Diana Wolfe.

Also named to the director's list were: Linda Freeman and Bonnie Gordon, both of Blue Ridge; Cynthia Hannah of New Castle; Sandra McCorkle of Troutville; and Tracy Newberry of Salem.

\ RUTH WALTON, a professional storyteller from Roanoke, received a master's degree in reading and story art from East Tennessee State University. Walton has traveled through the United States telling stories. She went to the former Soviet Union with a group of storytellers and will appear at the Mid-Atlantic Storytellers Festival in June.

\ JENNIFER C. WILLIAMS of 1925 Broyles Lane has been named to the dean's list for the first semester at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

\ ERIN THYME JAMIESON, and KIMBERLY KRISTIN STEWART, both of Roanoke, have been named to the dean's list at Elon College in North Carolina. Jamieson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Jamieson, and Stewart is the daughter of Betty V. Stewart.

\ PAUL J. JOHNSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh E. Johnson of Vinton, was named to the dean's list at Messiah College in Grantham, Pa.

Johnson, a sophomore psychology major, is a 1992 Roanoke Valley Christian School graduate.
