MONTHLY GOSPEL SING CELEBRATES ITS 4TH YEAR

The Farley Brothers and soloist Rita Davis are special guests tonight as the MONTHLY GOSPEL SING at the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers building on Peppers Ferry Road in Fairlawn marks its fourth anniversary. This 48th consecutive concert of local gospel groups gets under way at 7.

Also taking the stage will be The Highland Gospel Singers and The Gospel Strings.

Admission is free, and video cameras are welcome. There will be a door prize.

THE MARTIN FAMILY holds its Anniversary Sing 94 to Saturday, March 19, 7 p.m., at Auburn High School auditorium in Riner. Charles Johnson and the Revivers and The Wilburns also will be on hand. Refreshments will be available.

Local gospel singers or groups who would like to get a little radio exposure might want to get in touch with J.B. SHELTON, who's the host of Grand Old Gospel Sings which airs over WBLB (1340 AM) in Pulaski. Shelton has put together a half-hour program weekdays at 2:30 p.m. and is looking for local Christian singers, songwriters and musicians with tapes he can play.

The Rev. Bruce Roy of Huntsville, Ala., will speak during revival services at the DUBLIN PENTECOSTAL HOLINESS CHURCH Sunday through Friday. Services Sunday will be at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Weeknight services begin at 7:30.

"The Christian in the New Ecological Age" is the theme of Lenten events featuring JANE BLEWETT, who directs the Earthcommunitycq Center in Maryland.

She addresses an ecumenical service March 20, 11 a.m., at the Radford High School Auditorium. A reception follows.

That evening, she'll talk at 7 p.m. at Saint Jude Catholic Church, 1740 Tyler Road, Radford.

March 21 and 22, she visits Christ Lutheran Church, Harvey and Second streets, Radford, 10 a.m. both days.

Also March 21, Blewett speaks on "Ecology and Justice" at the Radford University Bread for Life program at noon in Heth Lounge C.

An evening session March 21 is set for 7 at Grace Episcopal Church, Fourth and Harvey streets, Radford.

The series concludes March 22 with a catered supper at 6:15 p.m. and a talk at 7:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Radford, Fourth and Randolph streets.

Dinner tickets are $4.50 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12.

Except for the supper March 22, all events are free; however, an offering will be taken to help defray expenses. A nursery is available.

In Pulaski, CHRIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH Wednesday night community programs with the theme of ``Save the Children'' continue. A potluck meal at 6 at the church is followed by a message and discussion ending by 7:30.

Wednesday, Brenda Conner, Juvenile intervention officer for the Pulaski Police Department, speaks. She heads a group developing a temporary shelter for youth in crisis.

March. 23, Sheriff Ralph Dobbins of Pulaski County discusses youth and firearms.
