Proposals from earlier negotiations were rejected by both sides, but Sunday's talks led to a contract.
"It was a good contract for both the employees and the company," said Stephen Spain, a Richmond-based representative with the union.
"It's one that will provide all the necessary health coverage, plus the wage increases that the employees desired."
Among the terms of the four-year contract are a 3 percent wage increase for each year of the contract, a substantial increase in the pension plan, an increase in life insurance and new health insurance coverage.
Although the plant changed health insurance companies, the level of benefits are comparable to ones offered by the previous insurance company and in some cases, better, Spain said.
He added that Federal Mogul is one of only a few companies left where employees don't have to pay toward their health insurance.
The previous contract expires March 20.
