More than 180 teams from schools in Wythe, Carroll, Smyth, Washington, Tazewell, Wise, Dickenson and Lee counties and the cities of Bristol and Norton will compete March 26 in problem-solving activities. About 4,000 students and 200 judges will be involved.
Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. at the Lee High complex about four miles east of Jonesville. Lee High School, the Ford Quillen Building and the Lee County Vocational/Technical School will be sites for student teams to work on problems.
Competition will run from 9 a.m. until the awards ceremony at 6:15 p.m.
All activities are open to the public. The program promotes divergent thinking and creative problem-solving skills at all grade levels.
