CARPET STORE OPENS IN PULASKI

After months of anticipation by Pulaski town residents watching their newest downtown store take shape on Main Street, Old World Carpet will open its doors at 10 a.m. today.

The former Felix Store building, one of the larger store fronts to remain closed on Main Street since Pulaski's revived recruiting of downtown businesses more than a year ago, has been renovated inside and out. Because of its size, some 4,000 square feet of interior floor space, the completion of that work took longer than expected.

J.B. Cruise, the store's local representative, has been replying with the stock answer of ``About three weeks'' whenever people asked when the new store would open. Now, when he tells them "Thursday," they respond: "That soon?"

The store is owned by Charles and Joyce Travis of Blowing Rock, N.C.
