ANTITRUST SUIT AGAINST HOSPITAL IS DISMISSED

A federal judge, for the second time, has dismissed a 1988 antitrust suit filed against Giles Memorial Hospital by a medical supply company.

The suit filed by Advance Health-Care services said Giles Memorial violated antitrust laws when it allowed Medserv, another supply company, to set up an office in the hospital.

Judge James Turk dismissed the suit in 1988, but his decision was reversed by an appeals court in Richmond.

Extensive discovery has been completed again, but Turk ruled that Advance Health-Care sill doesn't have enough evidence to warrant a trial.
