BOATING CLASSES

GAME DEPARTMENT: Classes are sponsored by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries each month at the Safety Council of Southwest Virginia office, 2728 Colonial Ave. The instruction is presented during two nights, from 7 to 10 p.m. There is no charge, but participants should register ahead of time by calling 344-4676.

The dates for upcoming classes are April 12-13; May 10-11; June 14-15; July 12-13; Aug. 16-17; Sept. 13-14; Oct 11-12; Nov. 15-16.\

\ FLOTILLA 81: A 13-night course will be sponsored by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary 81 at the Safety Council of Southwest Virginia office in Roanoke beginning March 31. Instruction is held on Thursday evenings, 7 to 9 p.m.

The instruction is free, but there is a charge for the textbook. Preregistration should be done through Al Perdue, 343-2159 or at the auxiliary's exhibit during the boat show.\ \ ROANOKE VALLEY POWER SQUADRON: An eight-night course with instruction once a week, 7 to 9 p.m. will start April 7 at the Safety Council of Southwest Virginia office in Roanoke. A charge for text materials only.
