In other college basketball:
Ed Conroy, an assistant coach at VMI this season, will join Joe Cantafio's staff at Furman.
Cantafio, who spent eight seasons as head coach at VMI, was named coach of the Paladins on Monday.
Conroy was a three-year starter at The Citadel, graduating in 1990. He spent three years as an assistant coach at North Carolina State under Les Robinson before moving to VMI for the 1993-94 season.
Ramon Williams, another first-year assistant for Cantafio this season, said he planned to stay at the institute, contingent on Cantafio's replacement. Williams was a standout player at VMI from 1986-90 and played high school basketball at William Fleming.
