MICHAEL REICK has joined Draper Aden Associates in Blacksburg as a project engineer specializing in wastewater management. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland and a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University.

VINCE RUARK has joined Draper Aden Associates as a geologist in the environmental division. A Virginia Tech graduate, Ruark also has a master's degree from James Madison University.

PRISCILLA MORRIS of Raines Real Estate, Inc./Better Homes and Gardens was recognized at the 1994 International Business Conference and Convention in New Orleans for Best of Show for Sales Professional. Morris has been with the Better Homes and Gardens real estate network for 12 years.

DR. THADDEUS C. LEE of Radford has completed continuing medical education requirements to retain active membership in the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Members must complete 150 hours of accredited continuing education every three years to maintain membership. Dr. Lee has been a member since 1977.

SUSAN MATTINGLY, innkeeper of Twin Porches Bed & Breakfast and MODE JOHNSON, innkeeper of Brush Mountain Inn Bed & Breakfast, both of Blacksburg, have been elected to the board of directors for the Bed & Breakfast Association of Virginia.

The GREATER BLACKSBURG CHAMBER OF COMMERCE announced the following board of directors members for the 1994-95 year: president - David Thacker; past president - Beth Ifju; president-elect and treasurer - Todd Halwas; vice president, retail development - Marla Kemsey; vice president, organizational development - Jim Johnson; vice president, economic development - Patti Cowley; vice president, governmental affairs - Larry Hincker.

New directors include Tommy Via, Brian Smith, Linda Sibold, Jeff Stump, Donna Capwell, Bucky Snider, Jane Baker, David Garland and Morris Stowers.

The CHRISTIANSBURG-MONTGOMERY COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE officers for the fiscal year March 1, 1994 to Feb. 28, 1995 are: president - Darryl J. Gillespie; vice president, finance - Litz H. VanDyke; vice president, community and economic development - James C. Stewart; vice president, fund raising and president-elect - Richard G. Ballengee; vice president, membership services - Truman K. Daniel Jr.; past president - H. Earnest Wade.

New board members are: Karen G. Hedge, Gerald W. Higgins, Thomas G. Johnson and Jo-Anne Verrone. Other directors are: Paul M. Barnett, Kent E. Bond, R. Tom Sheets, Ann Spencer and Betty S. Thomas.

BILL FORRESTER and SHELLEY J. BARKER of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant co-authored a paper on facilities contracting which was accepted for presentation at The American Defense Preparedness Association Conference in San Antonio.

JAX GLOSSBRENNER retired from Litton Poly-Scientific after 38 years of service in engineering and management. Known as "Mr. Slip Ring" because of his vast knowledge of and contributions to electrical contact technology, Glossbrenner was a member of many technical and professional organizations around the world during his career.

MILDRED F. FLYTHE retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant after 18 years of service. She was a member of the refrigeration department for the past 16 years.
