EX-OFFICER AWARDED $1 MILLION

An Albemarle County jury Wednesday awarded $1 million to a former police officer who developed epilepsy after being assaulted while making an arrest.

It is unclear whether Carolyn A. Bond will receive any of the money for the 1990 assault. Glenn Scott Snow, the defendant, never responded to the suit and did not attend the Circuit Court hearing.

The assault occurred in 1990 at a Charlottesville hotel. Bond was attempting to arrest Snow on a charge of assaulting a fellow officer when he hit her in the head, she testified.

Snow received a three-month sentence.
