BOWER LEADS AAA GIRLS

Tiffany Bower, who led Monacan to its first Central Region title and its first berth in the Group AAA tournament, is The Associated Press 1993-94 Group AAA girls' basketball player of the year.

Bower, a 5-foot-7 senior guard, is a University of Virginia recruit. She averaged 21.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, seven assists and 6.5 steals for the season. In the region final, Bower had 46 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as Monacan edged Midlothian in triple overtime.
