To make room for Schroder, the Cardinals released former Virginia quarterback Shawn Moore, who was signed two weeks ago after Denver waived him.
Schroeder moved into the No. 3 spot on the depth chart, behind Steve Beuerlein and Jim McMahon. Beuerlein started Sunday in a 14-12 loss to the Los Angeles Rams but was only 18-of-40 for 158 yards against the Rams, with two interceptions.
Schroeder, who earned $800,000 for his year with the Bengals, took a substantial pay cut.
