Because of an editor's error, a story in Friday's paper contained incorrect information about the terms of a new labor contract at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s tire plant in Danville. Under Goodyear's previous contract at the plant, workers averaged $30.98 an hour in wages and benefits. The company's new contract with its workers adds $4.50, according to an official with the United Rubber Workers union.

The error was in a story about the strike at the Yokohama Tire Corp. plant in Salem. Yokohama's Salem workers averaged $26.63 an hour under an expired contract.

Because an editorial assistant`s error, the incorrect time was listed in Friday's Calendar of Events for the United States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association Roanoke Valley Chapter dance on Sept. 18. The dance is 4:30-7:30 p.m.

The Carman concert at the Roanoke Civic Center is Sept. 24, not Sept. 23, as stated in Friday's Calendar of Events.
