Orlando's six-round score of 434 was good for the season's individual title. Teammate Brian Agee finished second with score of 437. Mark Sweeney of Lord Botetourt was third at 445, while Brian Sweeney of Northside and George Pickral of Rockbridge County tied for fourth at 449.
Northside won the season team championship with a total of 1,751, finishing ahead of Lord Botetourt (1,827). The Vikings earned a birth into the Region III tournament, hosted by Appomattox.
Orlando also earned medalist honors for Thursday's final competition with a 65 on the par-71 course. He was four shots ahead Brad Holtzclaw, who led Lord Botetourt to the team victory with a total of 289. Northside was second (290)and William Byrd was third (308).

Roanoke Valley Christian outshot guest Miller School 28-6 and got goals from four different players in a 4-0 Virginia Independent Conference soccer victory. Richard Booth, Ben Thomas, Adam Smoot and Joe Surkamer scored for RVC (3-1 overall, 2-1 VIC).
At Gretna, John Prillaman set a course record in leading North Cross to a 21-43 cross country victory over Hargrave Military Academy. Prillaman covered the 5-kilometer (3.2-mile) course in 20 minutes, 47 seconds.
The Virginia Tech men's tennis team lost its first doubles match in the opening round of the Tar Heel Invitation in Chapel Hill, N.C. Tech's Chad Toleafoa and Abe Helal lost 8-2 to a team from Richmond.
