BLACKSBURG - The Montgomery County Democratic campaign will open its Christiansburg headquarters Friday, Sept. 30, at 5 p.m. at 115 North Franklin St. State Sen. Madison Marye and Delegate Jim Shuler will be there to celebrate its opening.
The hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Headquarters will also open in Blacksburg, Saturday, Oct. 1, 2:30 p.m. in the former Lyric Theater, College Avenue. An open house celebration is scheduled with Congressman Rick Boucher.

Both headquarters can provide information and materials supporting the campaigns of U.S. Senator Charles Robb and Boucher, who are both running for re-election.
Even Start
CHRISTIANSBURG - The Montgomery County Public School's Even Start program is accepting applications for the 1994-95 school year.
To be eligible families must include 1 parent who has not finished high school or received a GED, have children up to age 7, and be a resident of Montgomery County.
Even Start provides adult and pre-school education and includes meals and transportation.

Architectural survey
RADFORD - Virginia architectural historian Leslie Giles will outline the findings of a preliminary historic district architectural survey during a slide show and talk Sunday, Oct. 9, 3 p.m., in the Radford High School auditorium.
The Radford Heritage Foundation will sponsor the session. Giles has recommended the city consider applying for at least two historic district designations, one in the city's East End and the other in the West End.
