OBIT-MEADOWS, VIOLET

MEADOWS, Violet, 92, of Salem, died Saturday, January 1, 1994, in a local hospital. She was a retired school teacher, teaching at Washington Heights and Tinker Creek Schools. She was a charter member of the Fair View United Methodist Church having taught in the primary department a number of years. Surviving are two sisters, Frances Walters, Edith Kraig both of Salem; two brothers, Frank Meadows, Roanoke, Robert Meadows, Vinton; nine nieces and nephews and a number of grand-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 1:30 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Robert M. Chapman officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
