Mr. and Mrs. James Glenward Holland, of North Palm Beach, Florida, and Wintergreen, Virginia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Ruth Armstrong Holland, to Richard Davis Ellis, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Davis Ellis, of Roanoke, Virginia, and Mrs. Howard Vaught, of Fort Meyers, Florida.

Miss Holland is a graduate of Oldfields School, Glencoe, Maryland, and Hollins College. She is president of Heed of Virginia, Inc., and an owner of Ward's Rock Cafe' in Roanoke, Virginia.

Mr. Ellis is a graduate of Radford University. He is Vice-President of Southern Distributing Company in Salem, Virginia.

A June wedding is planned.
