OBIT GRAVELY, CLARENCE JULIA WATSON
GRAVELY, Clarence Julia Watson, of 703 Second St., Martinsville, died
Wednesday, January 19, 1994, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and H.C. She
was born in Roanoke, and was a resident of Martinsville and Roanoke. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Walter Henry Gravely; her father, Clarence
Watson and mother, Mary Lou Waston. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs.
Gertrude Edwards, Martinsville, Mrs. Vivian Finney, Martinsville; two sons,
William C. Gravely Sr., and Walter U. Gravely, both of Washington, D.C.; 15
grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was a retired employee of E.L.
DunPont Denemours & Co. and a member of Fayette Street Christian Church,
Christian Women's Fellowship, Willing Worker's Club and a Gray Lady volunteer
to the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and H.C., the Community Hospital in
Martinsville and the Veteran Administration Hospital in Salem, and a member of
the Garden Club. Funeral services were Sunday, January 23, 1994, 3 p.m.,
Fayette Street Christian Church with the Rev. Joseph Galloway officiating.
Interment in William Memorial, Roanoke. Arrangements by Hairston Funeral Home,
Martinsville.
