OBIT HOGE, MARY LOUISE MCNULTY
HOGE, Mary Louise McNulty, 81, of 501 VES Road, Lynchburg, died Sunday,
January 23, 1994, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born in Roanoke, Nov. 8, 1912,
she was a daughter of the late Charles See McNulty Sr. and Anna Aylett
Anderson McNulty. She was the widow of John Benson Hoge, who was an attorney
in Lynchburg. Mrs. Hoge was a teacher, having taught in the area schools, and
was retired from teaching kindergarten at the Peakland School. She was a
member of St. John's Episcopal Church, the Daughters of the American
Revolution, Colonial Dames of America, and the Lynchburg Garden Club. She is
survived by a daughter, Judith Nicoll Hoge Minter of Charlottesville; a son,
James Benson Hoge of Milpitas, Calif.; a sister, Anne McNulty Stone of
Roanoke; two brothers, Col. (retd.) William Anderson McNulty and Charles See
McNulty Jr., both of Roanoke; three grandchildren, James B. Hoge Jr. of
Milpitas, Calif., Katherine Elizabeth Hoge of Farmville, and John Brandon
Hoge, also of Milpitas; two stepgrandchildren, Valerie N. Winther and Sean W.
Winther, both of San Jose, Calif.; a number of nieces and nephews, and a
number of friends in Lynchburg and Roanoke. A funeral service will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, in St. John's Episcopal Church, with the Rev.
Frank G. Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The
family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Mrs.
Paul E. Rosenberger, 3800 Sherringham Place. The family suggests that
memorials be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Diuguid Rivermont Chapel is in
charge of arrangements.
