METHODIST MEN HELP PEOPLE IN NEED

Five Points United Methodist Men is a group from Riner and Pilot churches that helps those in need. In 1993, the men raised and spent more than $7000 helping others. In addition, they gave away eight lawn mowers, three clothes dryers, four refrigerators, a freezer, washing machine, four television sets and other furniture, clothing, appliances and food baskets.

They even found and donated a trailer to a family of four who had been living without running water for several years. Then they contributed the time to fix it up. The group of about 12 men have been collecting major appliances and lawn mowers in any condition for about five years. The items are repaired or used for parts. Then they are given away or sold, and the money is used to help others.

To donate a large appliance or lawn mower, or if you need clothes or food, contact George Guilliams at 382-8748.
