TENN. MAN ARRESTED IN WYTHE CARJACKING

Wythe County had its first carjacking incident over the weekend, and a 28-year-old Tennessee man has been arrested for the crime.

A man approached the driver of a car Saturday morning in the parking lot of the Fort Chiswell McDonald's Restaurant, said he had a gun in his pocket and ordered the driver out of the vehicle, said Keith Dunigan, an investigator with the Wythe County Sheriff's Office.

The stolen car was pursued by Deputy Doug Tuck until it wrecked in Miller's Creek, and a man identified as Johnny B. Wilks of Memphis, Tenn., was arrested. Wilks is charged with auto larceny.
