OBIT-MCGEHEE, EVYLENA H.

McGEHEE, Evylena H., 95, of Axton, died Sunday, February 13, 1994 at Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community. She was born in Henry County, Va. on March 13, 1898, to the late Joseph T. Hairfield and Sallie O. Allen Hairfield. She was a retired seamstress from Jobber's Pants Factory and Globman's Inc. of Martinsville. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Axton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Belvin D. McGehee. Survivors include four nephews, Oswald W. Hairfield, Thomas S. Law Jr., both of Axton, Joseph M. Law, Church Road, Va., and William D. Law, Staunton. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 1994 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joel Tilson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time Tuesday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Building Fund, Rt. 2 Box 181, Axton, Va. 24054. Arrangements by Clore Funeral Home, Culpeper.
