OBIT CHUMBLEY, DORIS RUFF

CHUMBLEY, Doris Ruff, 52, of Salem, died Tuesday, February 15, 1994. She was a longtime Salem resident and was a Baptist. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Conner of N.Y.; two granddaughters; three brothers, Paul Ruff of Salem, Kenneth Ruff and Leroy Flowers, both of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Cora Ayers of Salem; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, William A. Gilmore. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 18 at 11 a.m. in the John M. Oakey and Son Chapel by the Rev. Paul Lefew. Burial will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday night from 7 to 9. Contributions may be made to Sherwood Memorial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Va. 24153 to help offset burial expenses.
