OBIT HARRIS, WILLIAM LARKIN ("BILL")

HARRIS, William Larkin ("Bill"), 81, of 201 Fairview Street, Narrows, died Wednesday, February 23, 1994 in the Giles Memorial Hospital, Pearisburg, Va. He was born in Ringo, Ga. on January 24, 1913 and was the son of the late William Franklin and Sarah Ellen Evans Harris. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Orville, Arnold and Alard Harris. He was a veteran of WW II and was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #6000 of Narrows. He was a member of the Modern Woodman Of The World and was a retired merchant. He is survived by his wife Ruth Brandon Harris; a daughter, Colleen Harris Kelley of Narrows; a brother, Hubert H. Harris, Mullins, W.Va; two sisters, Gladys Leath and Nell Bates, both of Fort Payne, Ala.; two grandchildren, Rusty Kelley of Charlotte, N.C. and Angela Kelley of Narrows; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Riffe's Funeral Chapel in Narrows with the Rev. Kimball Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe's in Narrows, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
